Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU), located in Yakutsk, is the largest higher education institution in the Russian northeast and one of the ten federal universities of Russia. Established in 1930 as Yakutsk State University, it was renamed in honor of Maxim Kirovich Ammosov, an outstanding statesman of Soviet Yakutia. The university has since become a prominent center for education, science, and cultural exchange in the region, preparing professionals for key industries, especially in the northern parts of Russia.
NEFU spans four campuses across Siberia, with additional branches in Chukotka’s Anadyr, Mirny, and Neryungri.
