Volga State University of Service (VRSUS) was established on September 1, 1981, as a branch of the Moscow Institute of Technology (MIT) in Togliatti, Samara region. Initially named the Far Eastern Technological Institute, it underwent a series of name changes, becoming the Volga State University of Service in 1996. The university is a leading educational institution in the region, specializing in fields such as economics, business, management, tourism, design, engineering, and international studies.
The university operates under the management of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, with overall governance provided by the Academic Council, which includes the Rector, Vice-Rectors, Deans, and other elected members. The current Rector, Lydia Ivanovna Erokhina, holds a Doctorate in Economics and is a Professor.
VRSUS is committed to high-quality education, with its academic activities guided by the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the Law on Education, and other relevant legal frameworks. It holds both a state accreditation and a license to operate as a higher education institution.
The university has implemented a Quality Management System certified to ISO 9001:2008 standards and follows the EFQM Excellence Model (European Foundation of Quality Management), ensuring that its educational programs meet the highest standards.

Student Accommodation
VRSUS offers comfortable accommodation for non-resident students in a fully equipped dormitory located at 29 Leningradskaya Street. The hostel provides a high level of security and access control, ensuring a safe and well-maintained living environment.
Rooms are shared by two or three students, and each floor includes a kitchen, two toilets, and bathrooms with showers and washing machines. The dormitory also features a computer hall with internet access, as well as a recreation room with audio and TV systems.

Tolyatti City
Tolyatti, the second-largest city in the Samara region of Russia, is located along the Volga River and serves as a major center for the automotive, chemical, and transport industries. It is one of the largest cities in Russia that is not a regional capital.
Tolyatti is known for its lush greenery and is often referred to as the “green city” due to its abundant parks and forests. The city spans 30 km along the Volga River and is divided into three districts: Avtozavodsky, Central, and Komsomolsky.
Key Features:
Climate: Tolyatti has a temperate continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, moderated by the Kuibyshev Reservoir. Average temperatures in January are -10.6°C, while in July, they reach 20.9°C.
Industry: Tolyatti is a vital industrial center, particularly known for AvtoVAZ, the city’s main enterprise and a major player in the Russian automotive industry. It is also home to the GM-AvtoVAZ joint venture and the TolyattiAzot chemical plant, the world's largest producer of ammonia. The city is a critical link in the ammonia pipeline Tolyatti-Odessa, which transports ammonia to Ukraine.
Transportation: Tolyatti is connected by the M-5 Ural Federal Highway, which links the city to Russia's central regions, Siberia, and the Far East. The city is located 90 km from Samara and 991 km from Moscow. However, only two trains connect Tolyatti to Moscow and Saratov.
UFO Phenomenon: Tolyatti has gained notoriety among Russian ufologists, being regarded as one of the most anomalous places in Russia due to a high number of unexplained events reported in the city.

Tolyatti is a significant economic and industrial hub, with a strong presence in the automotive and chemical industries. The city’s connection to major highways and its location along the Volga River make it an important transport and trade center.
