Yaroslavl State Medical University (YSMU) was established in 1944 and has since become a major educational and research center in the field of medicine. It is widely recognized for providing high-quality medical education and bio-medical research. YSMU is a leader in medical training, postgraduate education, and the retraining of healthcare specialists, with a focus on medicine, pharmacy, and high-level academic staff development, particularly in central Russia.
Currently, the university serves 4,500 students, including international students from over 40 countries, and offers programs in 60 different profiles, programs, and specializations. The university is equipped with 57 departments that are well-equipped to deliver high-quality education according to both Russian and international standards.
YSMU employs a staff of approximately 1,200 people, including 500 instructors, among whom 375 hold M.D. & Ph.D. titles. The faculty also includes over 100 doctors of sciences and full professors who are active members of international medical societies and renowned scientists in their fields.
